Larry the Billionaire Episode 1 Sticking it to Authority

Larry is a conservative in New York City. For a long time at work he kept his ideologies to himself. He had been widely attacked for his views but he was used to it. What fascinated him is how people would think he was evil based solely on being right-wing but when they got to know him, they were shocked to find out how nice he was. Work was kind of the opposite phenomenon. For about a decade, he kept his mouth shut but when he saw the country going socialist in reaction to Donald Trump, he ended his silence. One of the Senior Vice Presidents at the company was an establishment Republican. These people, Larry despised the most. He just couldn't understand how someone can say, "I like all of Trump's policies but because of his delivery and character, I hate him." Why can't actions speak louder than words in this situation? The event that upset JR, the company's Senior Vice President, was when Trump called McCain a loser and he likes people who win. JR's son was in the military so he took this as attacking a man's service. Larry was confused because Trump had given the military a raise. He ended the conflict in Syria to bring our boys home. How can you say Trump wasn't pro-military because he doesn't like one guy who served? Debating DENNIS was fruitless as he would insist on speaking first and then when you wanted to rebut he would run away. Furthermore, if Larry debated with someone else, he interjected and squashed the debate. A suppression of free dialogue was not something Larry respected. It enraged him even more coming from a so-called Republican.

One day Larry was in the lunch room and a Puerto Rican man brought up wage rates in the United States. His name was Miguel and Theo had known him well and liked him but wouldn't call him a friend. He walked up to Miguel and said, "What are you saying? Wages haven't gone up?"

"No, only for the rich"

"Well CNBC just came out with a report that the lower end of the payscale is getting better benefits for the first time in years. In fact, their wages have risen twice as fast as the higher end of the spectrum"

"Really? for what time period? Didn't it slow in 2019 because the Trump's tax cuts were temporary?"

"it's March now, last month saw a 3.4% jump compared with February of last year so no, wherever you heard that is wrong. That jump was the largest jump since April 2009, which was right when we were trying to recover. The wages on the lower end of the payscale has been going up for the last seven years"

Dennis walked in and said, 'No we're not going to do this. Miguel, you're not going to convince him and he's not going to convince you. I can't deal with this animated yelling."

Miguel said, "Who's yelling? We're just talking"

'No, Larry can't talk about politics without getting heated"

"He kind of just did."

Larry said, "You know JR, you're the only one with a problem with it because you’re a swamp rat Republican and now you suppress open debate so you're like a fucking Stalinist"

"See what I mean"

Miguel said, "He's not wrong. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a Stalinist but you did walk in here and try to get us from stop having what I thought to be a civilized discussion. Larry did you think i was being animated"

"Not at all, we were having a good debate"

"I don't even think we were debating. We were just talking, Jeez"

Dennis said, "Look, we're not doing this right now. No political discussions"

Theo said, "Yea, only if it's you right? That is the definition of free speech. Look, you at this job are very competent and I respect you professionally. Personally though, you're a piece of trash. You are what's wrong with this country and you are a piece of shit." Dennis wasn't used to people talking to him like that as he was one of the highest ranking people in the company. He also didn't like it because Larry was much younger than him. To JR's shocked expression, Larry continued, "25% of people believe that 9/11 was an inside job. I use that to think that 25% of people are retarded. According to a new poll, 28% of people think the Mueller Probe is fair and accurate. the exact same number, 28%, agree with impeachment. Let me guess, you're one of the 28% that think Mueller's probe is accurate"

"Yes I am. You watch too much Russian news and conservative media."

"Who's on the Mueller probe?"

"Mueller's a Republican"

"So are you. You're not exactly fair to the President. Do you think you'd be good on Mueller's team knowing your animus toward the President"

"Here, listen for a minute"

"No, I'm done listening to you. I've played this game before. You're a fucking hypocrite. God gave you two ears and one mouth for a reason. This time you listen first and then I will listen to your rebuttal because last time you ran away like a little bitch."

"This is what I mean, I'm out of here"

"Thanks for proving my point" Larry said to JR's back.

Miguel said, "JR, why don't you hear him out? Larry, though, try to not use name calling"

Dennis said, "You know what, that's a good idea. If you can refrain from name calling, I'll listen"

"Deal"

"Ok go on" Dennis said as he sat down.

"Here is everyone on the Mueller Probe. During the Enron case, Mueller was the head of the FBI. His chief bulldog in the probe is Andy Weissman, who worked with him on the Enron case..."

"What's wrong with working with people that you worked with before and did a good job?"

"One, I don't think the Enron case was very good but that's besides the point. Two, are you going to let me finish without interrupting? Again, you're proving my point"

"Fine, go"

"Weissman congratulated Sally Yates for disobeying a direct order from Trump. Sessions recused himself because of personal animus and Weissman showed blatant personal animus toward the President. Justice should be blind and you need objective people on the counsel. Andy Weissman also went to Hillary's campaign party, which ended up being a losing party but he was still there so his allegiances are obvious. That leads me to Jeanie Rhee. Rhee was the outside council for the Clinton Foundation. She was also the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Barak Obama. How is that not a conflict? Rhee also represented Ben Rhodes, who is a fiction writer for Obama. If it wasn't a witch hunt, you'd think you'd find a lawyer that didn't work for Clinton or Obama. That's going to come up a lot now. Next we have Aaron Zebley. He represented Justin Cooper, the guy who allegedly destroyed Hillary Clinton's balckberries when she tried to cover up her e-mail scandal. Next we have George Nadar. Nadar tried to set up Eric Young by arranging meetings with the United Arab Emigrates. It was an entrapment operation. Nadar is represented and joined on the probe by Kathryn Rummler. Rummler was Obama's fixer or White House council. The one tasked with covering up Uranium One, running guns to Mexico, I think they called it fight or flight or something bottom line is main white house lawyer for Obama. Next we have Lisa Monaco, Mueller's former chief of staff. She also worked on Enron with him and just because no member can be without Clinton or Obama ties, she was Obama's national security official. Now, Monaco didn't have either position for the entire time, which brings us to our last member John Carlin who replaced Monaco both as Mueller's chief of staff and worked for Obama's national security division in the DOJ. He also signed the FISA warrant, which was based on information we know to be false so he lied about it being verified because obviously it wasn't because it was fake. That FISA he signed was to spy on Trump's campaign. None of this bothers you? You see no conflict of interest when everyone on the independent council are close ties to Trump's two biggest rivals, Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama? Okay, now I'm done"

"Washington is a small town. Everyone knows each other. It's impossible to have a group of people that don't have ties to everyone"

"What are their ties to Bush?"

"Well, you're talking the last President"

"Enron was before Bush"

"I didn't follow this as closely as you but with law enforcement, Democrats and Republicans don't matter"

"So why did you insist on telling me that Mueller was a Republican? Everyone else on the probe is a Democrat. So you can try to discredit me by saying that Mueller is a Republican so it's fair but I can't point out that everyone else is a Democrat?"

"See, you get so adversarial about this. I heard you out, you made your decision. I don't think you did enough to convince anyone today so I'm leaving. Are you going to get upset about that now? If what you were saying was true, the media would be all over it"

"No, this debate isn't with you. I know you will never say anything nice about the President. You can go, but I don't really think you made any real point against me"

"That's because you're closed minded"

"Projection doesn't suit you."

DENNIS looked at the TV and saw a white haired Englishman. He said, "Hey it's Roger Daltry"

Larry said, "Who's that?"

"Oh God, he was the lead singer for "The Who" please tell me you know who that is."

"it was a little before my time but I do know who they are yes." Larry said with a smile.

Daltry was being interviewed by a reporter asking about Brexit. The reporter asked, "How do your tour if England isn't in the EU?"

Daltry answered condescendingly and annoyingly, "Like we never toured in Europe before the fucking EU. What does Brexit have to do with Rock groups?"

Daltry was pacing as he was talking presumably annoyed with the question. Larry started laughing and said, "There's your great pillar of Democratic excellence the media" sarcastically. DENNIS just walked out of the room and said nothing. Larry taunted, "I may not have known him by name befoere, but I like him now"

Miguel said, "That was kind of interesting. I'm not sure if it's as biased as you say but it is interesting. I just want the Mueller probe to end soon. It's been too long."

"Yea, I agree"

"Did you hear they want to lower the voting age to 16"

"Yea"

"I think it's a good idea."

"I don't. Most 16-year-olds are stupid. They're just learning about the world. I think college kids are pretty dumb too so I don't even think 18 is right but whatever. At least by then they get their first taste of independence. The thing is you need to have more than a taste before you can start making decisions on who to vote for. There's a difference between knowledge and knowing. Michael Jordan knows how to shoot a free throw but he doesn't know how he knows because it came naturally to him. Someone that had to grind and work hard they develop the knowledge on how a free throw is shot. They know the tricks. Like Pete Rose with hitting a ball. He's not physically gifted but he grinded so he got knowledge as opposed to Aaron Judge who's just a big dude."

"I guess, but some 16-year-olds grind"

"Not enough to warrant the entire group to vote. Most think getting their car keys taking away is the worst thing in the world."

Larry and Miguel left the room. Larry heard someone talking about the New Zealand mosque shooting. He heard the words, "When will they finally ban guns?"

Larry said, "Why, you think someone that is willing to kill is going to think twice about breaking the law to get a gun. Especially when they know it's hard to get for law abiding citizens?"

"People always make that argument but there aren't mass shootings anywhere else in the world. Just here"

"We are talking about a shooting in New Zealand right? So, yea, not true and there's shootings in Paris all the time and pretty much everywhere else in the world. It's covered more here but this is America so the news should report a little more on American topics"

"Well the Prime Minister of New Zealand said she's banning semi-automatic weapons"

"Which, nobody really provides a definition for."

"The purpose of a gun is to kill. With other things used as weapons like knives, there are other uses"

"Yes, but killing isn't always bad. Hence the guns used for hunting. You get food. Or the guns used to kill someone trying to hurt you. Which is why you need the gun. Given that it's New Zealand, I'm surprised they're banning guns"

"Why?"

"They tried it in Australia and it was a failure"

"How so?"

"Well, Australia bought back guns just like New Zealand is proposing. Yes, homicide by guns fell but it fell by a greater percentage in the United States as it did in Australia."

"It still went down"

"During the time period though, gun ownership went up in America and Australia took guns away. If the problems were guns, when one country the ownership goes up and the other takes it away, you should see opposite results not the same. Even before the buyback, the homocide rate was falling"

"Well yea but suicides are more common with guns"

"No, the suicide rate also fell more sharply in America than in Australia during this time"

"Fine, so guns don't matter. Less guns lower crime, more guns lower crimes"

"That's not what i said, because the gun ban created a black market and people naturally want something that people tell them they can't have, there were more guns in Australia after the ban, When the ban started, there were about 1,000,000 guns in Australia. After, there was 1,026,000. So, both countries more guns less crime"

Dennis walked by and said, "Oh God, Larry are you still at it."

"Yup, laying down truth. The fact that facts and truth offends you, shows what kind of person you are."

Dennis said to the people he was talking to, "You don't have to be polite, you can tell him to shut up."

"We're not, we're just having a civilized debate."

"He's not capable of that."

Larry said, "Funny, you seem to be the only person to think this"

Dennis walked away and Larry finished his work day.
