Fanis is excited that a woman he
has great respect for, Candace Owens, is getting married in London,
England. He finds out where it is to get
a peak at the newlyweds coming out of the church. He snaps some pictures like a paparazzi who
refuses to give celebrities their privacy.
To make it worse, this wasn’t exactly the royal wedding so there wasn’t
that big a crowd to lose himself in. He
got his picture and now he was heading back home. As he was walking, his phone rang. It was from his boss and cousin Kera who was
an international Chinese art dealer.
Fanis was her bodyguard and he knew if she was calling that means they
were on the move. It was off to another
country. Kera didn’t even bother with
pleasantries, “I packed your shit, meet me at the airport”
“Okay, I saw Candace Owens in
case you wanted to know.”
“I should hope so, that’s the
only reason you went there!”
“Fair point”
“We’re going to San Lucia by the
way.”
Fanis smiled, apparently two
could play the game by answering questions that weren’t asked. Fanis went to the airport and met up with
Kera. He asked, “You do know that a
hurricane just hit the Caribbean right?”
“Yea, Bahamas got it the
worst. Now it’s in Florida and making
its way to the Carolinas and Virginia”
“So, why are we flying to the
Caribbean?”
“Because it’s not there anymore
and the Bahamas was devastated. San
Lucia is fine.”
“I’m sure it’s not fine, it’s
just not as bad as the Bahamas”
“That’s why we’re going”
Fanis thought about this for a
minute and realized what she was getting at.
Since a hurricane just hit the Caribbean, there wouldn’t be tourists
around. With no tourists, there would be
privacy. With nobody around, people can
meet in secret. On the plane, Kera
remarked, “Finally, Walmart is doing something about all these mass shootings”
“What do you mean?”
“They’re not selling guns or
ammunition for assault rifles anymore.”
“What?! They’re virtue signaling?”
“Look something has to be done”
“Yea, more people need to carry
guns. Don’t they understand that most of
their customers are Trump supporters?
Criminals don’t buy guns from Walmart, they buy them illegally. Law abiding citizens buy guns from Walmart.”
“Yes, but decreasing
availability is good to prevent the bad ones.”
“No it doesn’t, it only prevents
people from defending themselves against the bad ones.”
“There were two shootings in a
Walmart, they had to do something.”
“Increase security. Have armed security guards hanging out.”
“You don’t think this will help
the bottom line?”
“I don’t know anymore. Conservative boycott of Nike failed but the
ones on Target and Dick’s succeeded. The
Dick’s one was this exact issue, they stopped selling guns.”
“Yea, but that’s a sporting
goods store and part of sporting goods is hunters so that’s different.”
“I would agree. That’s why I
said I don’t know.”
“Well, you always say that it
happens in liberal places but El Paso and Dayton aren’t bastions of liberalism”
“They don’t report on the ones
that happen in high gun control areas”
“What? Oh don’t give me your
conspiracy bullshit.”
“What conspiracy? The first half of labor day, 25 people were
shot in Chicago; 7 were killed.”
“I didn’t hear about that.”
“Exactly, because it doesn’t fit
the narrative.”
“That’s a stretch”
“Then the mayor of Chicago said
some retarded shit”
“Like what? They need more gun control”
“They already have one of the
strictest gun control laws in the country so she couldn’t go that route. Instead she lied and said that most of the
guns used were bought in Republican-leaning states.”
“Well, maybe they were.”
“They tracked them; they weren’t
but let’s pretend that they were for a second.
If you bought a gun in say Indiana, why did you wait to get to Chicago
to commit the crime?”
“Because you live in Chicago and
that’s where you want to commit the crime.”
“You were so pissed that you
travelled to a different state. Went
through the background checks to obtain a gun and drove all the way back and
you didn’t cool down? Look, it’s not
like the other states don’t do background checks; they do. Maybe they didn’t try it because they don’t know
who else has a gun in the Republican-leaning state so they go to Chicago where
they know people don’t have guns.”
“The whole Chris Rock defense;
don’t go to parties with metal detectors.
Sure it feels safe inside but what about everyone waiting outside with
guns? They know you ain’t got one.”
“Exactly. Chris Rock explains why gun-free zones and
gun control doesn’t work.”
“He also said all bullets should
cost $ 5,000”
“Yea, well, he lost me there.”
Kera smiled and shook her
head. There was a lot of turbulence but
the plane landed safely in San Lucia. They
went to the hotel and Fanis got confused, “What is there to do if I can’t go to
the beach?”
“Your job”
“I have to go to your meeting?”
“Yes, since you really have
nowhere else to go.”
“That’s true.”
It was still stormy and windy in
San Lucia so they just stayed in the hotel and watched the wind ravage the
trees. They had dinner at the hotel and
then got ready for the next day. In the
morning, Fanis accompanied Kera to the meeting and thought that the
conversation would probably be in Mandarin.
It wasn’t. They met with a collector that was not from the far east but
Fanis didn’t really pay attention to the deals.
His concern was only if Kera was in danger. The person that Kera was meeting with also
brought a detail. One of the security
guards walked up to Fanis knowing that he wasn’t paying attention and inquired,
“You American?”
“Yea, but I live in London.”
“Did you hear this stuff about
how President Trump’s resorts aren’t easier to protect the president? Do you think that’s true?”
“That was Politico. They probably
took the quote out of context from the Secret Service or they didn’t have any
Secret Service people tell them that at all and made it up claiming they’d
‘protect their sources’ if someone asked.”
“You really don’t trust the
media that much.”
“That would be correct. I think everything they say is a lie.”
“Well, it’s your word against
theirs.”
“No, logic is on my side.”
“How so?”
“The only reason Politico is
saying this is because they want to make it seem like the President is making
money by travelling as the president by staying at his hotels.”
“Well, it makes sense”
“No it doesn’t. He waived his $500,000 salary that the
president gets. Before he ran for
president, living in Trump Tower was a prestige thing so you could charge more
money because people wanted to say they lived in Trump Tower. All that is gone now. The prestige of the name as a hotel brand is
gone. He’s lost millions of dollars
being president and destroyed his brand.
If he only cared about money, he never would have done this.”
“Maybe he didn’t anticipate that
so he’s trying to save money anywhere he can.
Or, in this case, make money any way he can.”
“He knew. He was ridiculed and harassed throughout the
primary. He could have dropped out like
everyone predicted. He could’ve said it
was just a joke like everyone said he was eventually going to do. He did none of that. He’s the only president to take a pay cut to
be president.”
“You’re denying the issue. Is it harder to secure a Trump hotel than a
regular one? You’re a bodyguard. In your expert opinion what do you think?”
“Yes it is easier because he
pays the employees so they’re all amicable to him. It’s easier when you know the property inside
and out and you know all the employees because you hired them. That is preferable than a property you’ve
never been to with employees you don’t know.
Common sense.”
“I guess that does make
sense. If you built the property, you
know all the exits and passageways and shit.”
“There you go.”
“Still, you can’t deny that he
is making money off it.”
“If you still believe that’s why
he’s doing that, then there’s nothing I can do to change your mind. I gave you two very good reasons why that
can’t be his only reason or even a main reason since he had better options to
make money.”
“I think he didn’t realize the
backlash his presidency would have.”
“Well, I disagree there. He seemed ready for this fight. Nothing seems to blindside him.”
Kera got up and shook hands with
the people with a big smile. Apparently
the deal was successful. Fanis
approached her and Kera nodded her head confirming his suspicions that it was
successful. They walked out of the hotel
side by side. Kera stated, “I want to go
for a walk”
“It’s extremely windy and a
shitty day.”
“I know but I want to go for a
walk”
“Fine”
Fanis knew that Kera loved
walking. She often said she could never
live in a non-walking city. Apparently
someone else knew that she liked walking too.
While walking, Fanis found himself on the wrong side of Kera. He was looking out at the once immaculate
white sand beaches typical of scenic San Lucia but it wasn’t scenic now with
branches and debris all over the beach and a once turquoise sea was not so clear with all the sediment blown
in. It made him sad but he knew that in
a couple months, everything would subside and the Caribbean would be clear
again. While distracted by the beach, he
heard a shriek. He snapped his head
toward Kera and saw a man grabbing Kera’s arm and yanking her away. Fanis spun towards him and grabbed Kera’s
other arm pulling her towards him. With
the hand not pulling Kera, the man held a gun and fired. The bullet slammed into Fanis’ shoulder and
he backed off.
Fanis barely felt the bullet
pierce his skin. Instead, it seemed to
awaken an instinctual reaction as his vision went dark and tunneled. Somewhere in the deep resources in his brain
he realized that anyone that would shoot someone to take a girl has very bad
intentions. He lunged forward and
grabbed the guys’ neck by his ceratoid arteries and squeezed hard. The man released his grip on Kera and Fanis
blurted out, “Run”
Kera did just that and Fanis
removed his small pocket knife from his waist and pushed on the spring assist
to snap the blade in place. He drove the
knife into the man’s midsection repeatedly causing him to drop the gun. Fanis’ breathing slowed and he was no longer
acting on instinct but allowing thought processes to occur. He took his knife and jammed it into the
major artery near the sternum. He then
brought the knife up and stabbed both his brachial arteries and switched his
grip so the blade now pointed down. He
stuck both femoral arteries and let go of his left hand, which was the only
thing keeping him up.”
The man collapsed clearly dead
and Fanis was covered in his blood. Now
the pain of being shot hit him as he grabbed his left shoulder and stumbled
toward the beach. He put the knife
against his shirt and cut it. He then
reached across to cut off the sleeves so his shirt would fall off. It was difficult with the pain but he was
managing.
Kera hadn’t gone far. She ran a safe distance so that a shot would
be hard but she could still see if Fanis won the fight. When he saw the other guy fall in a bloody
mess, Kera knew that Fanis won. She
watched as he clutched his arm and headed toward the beach with great
effort. She ran over to him and barked,
“Lie down near the water.”
“What are you going to do?”
Kera took the knife and finished
cutting off Fanis’ shirt. Kera removed
her sandals, pants and shirt. Fanis knew
what she was doing, she wanted dry clothes.
Fanis didn’t care about wet clothes; he walked to the water and lied
down letting the waves sporadically wash over him as the salt water acted as a
disinfectant. Kera grabbed a small
branch and hurried over to Fanis. She
put the branch near his mouth and Fanis bit down on it. She knelt on his left side and uttered, “This
is going to hurt like a bitch.”
“I know”
She took out a lighter and
burned the blade of the knife. She then
cut around Fanis’ wound to enlarge it. She
washed her hands in the water and then started digging in the wound. Fanis hissed in pain but kept his left arm
still. His right hand reached and
grabbed a larger branch and he squeezed.
Kera grasped the bullet in between her nails and pulled it out cringing
at what she had to just do. She took a
deep breath and asked, “Do you want to bullet?”
“No”
Kera threw the bullet into the
water. She raised his arm and let the
waves crash over them soaking the wound.
She knew that she had to ease the tense situation so she blurted out,
“This is why I want gun control”
“Yea, because San Lucia is known
as a gun state”
“Is it?”
“I have no idea but this has
nothing to do with the 2nd amendment, we’re not even in America.”
“All I’m saying is that my guy’s
biggest scandal was wearing a tan suit”
“Who Obama?”
“Yea”
“I don’t even remember
that. I do remember such scandals as
Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the Iran Deal, the FISA abuse, weaponizing the IRS
against the Tea Party and other conservative organizations, the James Rosen scandal,
the AP scandal and, just recently, Spygate in the attempted thwarting of Donald
Trump to become President and then take him down when they failed.”
“Well, all of that was unfair
and the FISA abuse and Spygate are still being investigated”
“People actually died in Benghazi”
“That was Hillary’s fault”
“Who was President?”
“Fine, whatever, I just thought
it was ridiculous when he got shit for wearing a tan suit?”
“I don’t think he did. I think the media pretended he got shit for
it to cover up the really bad shit he did.
The media loves talking about ‘Republicans pouncing’ but half the time
conservatives don’t care about what the media says they care about. Just like Bill Clinton. Everyone thinks it’s because he had an
affair. No it wasn’t, it was perjury,
obstruction of justice and weaponizing the government agencies against Kenn
Starr, Linda Tripp and Paula Jones.
Sound familiar?”
“I don’t know the legitimacy of those
other things. Not sure if we can blame
Obama. I know Trump thought Iran was bad
but maybe it wasn’t”
“It was, Rosatom was bought by
Russian companies and so was Uranium One.
We armed the Russians with our Uranium”
“Allegedly, anyway, I think your
wound has been soaked enough by salt water.”
She walked over to
where she cut off his shirt and picked it up. She tied it around his shoulder
to put pressure on the wound. She put
the dry clothes over her wet bra and panties and helped Fanis to the car. Usually Fanis drives but Kera got in the driver’s
seat and headed back to the hotel. They drove
in silence and Fanis broke it with, “Hey Kera?”
Kera’s hands tensed.
She thought that now that he had been shot, he was going to finally ask
why people wanted to kill her. Instead
he articulated, “Thank you for taking care of me.”
She giggled, “You’re welcome”
“But, you didn’t know if there
would be others. You should’ve left me
there. The whole point of this is to die
for you if the situation comes to it.”
“if the situation comes to it,
yes but it didn’t”
“You didn’t know that”
“You killed the guy that
attacked me. Nobody came to his aid so
yes I did know that.”
They got back to hotel and Kera
helped Fanis change into dry clothing.
Kera left and got a bottle of rum from the lobby. She also found a needle and thread. She went back up to the room and took off the
shirt that was applying pressure on the wound.
Fanis held on to a chair that Kera brought over and Kera put the shirt
in his mouth. She poured the rum on the
wound and then Kera pulled the shirt out of his mouth and gave him the bottle. Fanis sat up and took a swig of the rum and
lied back down. Kera then threaded the
needle and put the shirt back in Fanis’ mouth.
She put the needle into the healthy skin near the wound and pulled it
across to the other side watching the skin converge. She reversed direction until she stitched up
the affected area. She smiled and
declared, “Well, now you can have a scar from your time with me.”
They threw the shirt away and
Fanis muttered, “Thank You” but he was in a lot of pain.
“It’s a good thing you have a
change of clothes. You wouldn’t want to
be arrested for being a transgender like that poor woman in the states that ICE
rounded up.”
“That’s not how it happened at
all. She was an illegal.”
“Yea, her and a hundred million
other people.”
“Yea, but she jumped a turnstile
and was on the platform for the light rail without a ticket. That’s why the cops questioned her.”
“Usually you get a fine for
that, not roundied up by the authorities.”
“You do if you have two
outstanding warrants like she did.”
“ICE is getting mean”
“They should be meaner. More people that skip asylum hearings and
lost their cases so are supposed to be deported should actually be rounded up
and forced to leave.”
“I’m not getting into this with
you.”
Kera’s phone rang and she
frowned at the caller ID. It was the
person she sold the artifact to. She
answered the phone and said, “Hello” hesitantly
“Kera, I’m so sorry about what
happened. I saw what happened on the
news, are you okay”
“I’m fine, don’t worry. I’m at the airport on my way home” she lied
“I just want you to know we had
nothing to do with this.”
Kera had been wondering about
that but this random phone call only made her more suspicious not less. Fanis could tell that she was at a loss for
word so he blurted out, “Look man, I hope you understand we don’t really know
who to trust. I don’t really want to
talk about this. Bottom line is, we’re
okay and the other guy isn’t so it’s a win for us. At this point, I don’t really want to hear
anything about this from you.”
“Yea, right now if it’s not
about the weather, I’m not interested” Kera interjected
“Fine, a lighter topic. Do you think Trump will be re-elected?” the
buyer said
Kera gave an incredulous look
and raised her hands in exasperation at the randomness. Fanis was amused both at the question and
that all this histrionics was lost because the person on the phone couldn’t see
her. He answered, “Well, a lot can
happen between now and the election.
There’s a couple things we know though.”
“What would that be?”
“Unlike 2016, voter turnout will
be extremely high”
“I don’t know. Whoever wins on the Democrat side is not
going to be very popular and Trump is very polarizing. They might stay home because they hate both
candidates again.”
“Normally I’d agree but 2018 was
the highest midterm turnout since 1914 so that’s indication that this one is
going to be big too.”
“We shall see.”
“Nothing really matters unless
the economy stays hot. Economic growth
can’t slow down.”
“You think it’s more important
than the cultural issues?”
“Absolutely”
“What about the popular vote”
“It doesn’t matter. We have an electoral college for a
reason. Trump will probably lose the
popular vote and the 15 states that voted to not vote by the state but by the
national vote all went to Hillary anyway so none of that matters.”
“You don’t think it matters what
a majority of people think?”
“No, we are a collection of
states. Every state needs to matter. They already get more House representatives
so popular vote does effect electoral votes.
It’s been like this since the inception, we can’t change the rules
because you don’t like who won.”
“Democracies are about a
majority.”
“In a popular vote, it’s the
United States of Illinois, New York and California.”
“I see you’re a patriotic boy.”
“Yes I am”
“I’m glad everyone’s okay, have
a good night.”
“Good night.”
“You’ll just talk politics with
anyone won’t you” Kera chided
“Yes”
Kera and Fanis made it an early
night as it was a stressful day. The
next morning, they went to the airport and flew back to London. Fanis was moving a lot better now that he was
stitched up. Kera offered to change
their flight so he could get treated in America but he refused. People ask questions about gun shot wounds. On the plane, Kera voiced, “You know, you
keep talking about this Spygate stuff and the deep state. The IG investigation into Comey turned out to
be a weak case so they couldn’t indict him.
Why don’t you think this is the same as the Mueller probe? A complete waste of time.”
“Muller report there were always
holes in the stories that we knew about.
We knew it was a hoax from the start.
Now, all the mainstream media can do is call us conspiracy theorists but
they can’t explain the information we did find out. They keep with vague ‘sources and methods’
but when the president tells you to declassify something, you declassify it. If the DOJ, FBI, CIA, NSA refuse a
declassification request from Obama there would be wide hysteria. Not only would they be fired, they’d be
kicked out of the country for daring to defy the golden calf messiah.”
“Kicking them out of the country
is a little much”
“No, they’d call him a
racist. That’s what they did to Michael
Richards. He used the n-word and now he
has to live in Cambodia.”
“Well, you have a problem with
them being vague. What specifically do
you think they need to reveal to make everyone aware of what you think you
know?”
“The future will see that Obama’s
CIA, FBI, DOJ illegally eavesdropped on the Trump Campaign.”
“The FISA?”
“No, the FISA was granted. They lied to get it granted but it was. I mean that they were eavesdropping outside
of the FISA. “
“That’s just them doing their
job”
“From now on, everything I say,
just pretend it was done to Obama and not Trump and you’ll realize the truth.”
“You could do the same. You’d be saying what I’m saying if it was
Obama and not Trump. Besides two degrees
of separation can cover the whole campaign”
“We’ll never know. Remember, Trump was just one political
opponent of Obama. He did this illegal
spying on all his political opponents since at least 2014. That’s how you have the surveillance beyond
the FISA; the other political opponents.”
“Is that all you got?”
“Oh, I’m just getting warmed
up. What is the document that Brennan
hand delivered in a sealed envelope to Obama?
He said it was a critical source close to Putin but Nunes, who has seen
it, says it’s really the Steele dossier, which we all know is false by now.”
“So what? The CIA director thought it was real”
“There’s a reason why we have an
intelligence hierarchy to vet information.
You can’t have the most classified and sensitive material being from a
single source. That’s how we get wars in
Iraq for WMD’s that don’t exist. Working
on unverified information is bad so it has no business in the President’s daily
briefing”
“You were in favor of the War in
Iraq is I recall”
“I was because we had to clean
up our mess. We armed Saddam Hussein
with chemical weapons. He misused them
so we had to take him out.”
“I’m not talking about old shit
right now.”
“Fine, I’ll keep going. I want Comey and Brennan’s e-mails to each
other. They’re both fired so it
shouldn’t be classified anymore. They
were talking about the International Community Assessment with the
president. I think it was a cover your
ass move.”
“I don’t remember this”
“That the Russians interfered to
help Hillary. The problem is Obama a
couple months earlier gave a speech that it was impossible for a foreign power
to rig the election. Trump baited him
and he fell for it. Trump said he
wouldn’t accept the election results if he lost because the Russians helped
Hillary. Obama said it was impossible
then Trump won and all of a sudden that’s what he believes. Since Obama needed to cover his tracks, he
put pressure on Brennan so in a panic he grabbed Steele’s dossier not verifying
it because Steele was good with FIFA.”
“That’s a lot of hypotheticals”
“No, it’s not. It’s all facts. Obama did say that it was impossible. He did take it back. The only speculation is what he did about it
but we have evidence of it.”
“Okay”
“Then the nail in the
coffin. All the documents about Joseph
Mifsud and his talks with the FBI. If he
was a western intelligence source then the whole narrative is destroyed. Then again, Obama said Russia could never
meddle in our elections because American elections are too decentralized then
completely contradicted himself and the left didn’t care so who knows, maybe
people wouldn’t see the hypocrisy that they said the whole investigation was
opened because Papadopoulos talked to Joseph Mifsud who was a Russian
agent. Then we find out that he’s a
western intelligence guy so it doesn’t matter if Papadopoulos is talking to
him. I can see through that but your
tribe can’t”
“We are related. My tribe is your tribe”
“Only by blood”
“Blood is stronger than
politics”
“Only with conservatives”
“And with me”
“Maybe”
“Low blow”
“Alright, sorry. You obviously keep me around despite our
ideological differences. We live
together and I’m the closest thing you have to trust.”
‘Exactly, that’s why it’s a low
blow.”
“Well, the last thing is the 53
FBI and DOJ agent interviews. I want the
transcripts since we know that the government sucks at summaries and I don’t
trust them anyway. Simpson said he met
Ohr after the election. Ohr said he met
Simpson before the election. Both were
under oath so one committed perjury. I
want to know which.”
“They’ll just say they didn’t
remember. Perjury is hard to prove”
“I know but we should still
try.”
“I guess”
After two weeks, Fanis removed the
thread acting like stitches. They made a
sling for his arm and he kept it on for a couple weeks until he realized he had
full movement again. Kera got over her
guilt about it. After all, that is what
he signed up for. Fanis had no regrets. He was happy she was okay. It did bother him on who attacked her. Was it just a normal local that wanted some
action or was it a plot by the people she sold to? Right now, they didn’t have an answer and
weren’t really leaning either way.
