Fanis the Bodyguard Episode 32 Angry at the American Degeneration

Fanis is in a bad mood.  He has a bottle of vodka in front of him and a Kukri in his hand.  There is an arm chair made of wood and metal on the arm rest side and Fanis is hacking away at it knowing that aside from cutting the fabric, he’s not going to get through the substance of the arm rest.

As it is his cousin Kera’s flat in London, she comes to see what the commotion is.  Despite the violence and drunken anger that Fanis is displaying, Kera is completely unafraid as Fanis is her body guard and would never hurt her regardless of how much alcohol he has consumed or what weapons are in his hands.  She cries out, “What the hell is wrong with you?”

“Adam Schiff has subpoenaed Giuliani, Nunes & John Solomon’s phone records and published them in a paper for the world to see.”

“The House intelligence committee chair basically doxed his colleagues and a journalist?”

                “Yes”

“Is this to try to give credibility to the whistleblower and that debacle that was the impeachment hearing?”

“The one that Nadler is revitalizing?  Yes, that one.”

“Okay, this is getting kind of scary.   I’m not sure we can return to America.  It is really becoming communist Russia.  This is 1984.”

“I hope you’re not mocking me but I have been saying that for a while now.”

“I know you have and I thought you were crazy”

“You don’t think I am now?”

“No, I mean John Solomon?  A Journalist.  What happened to sources and methods?  It was unthinkable to even ask a journalist where they got their information from.”

“Which was the problem because they made up ‘anonymous sources’ in order to say what they wanted a witness to say or a story they were perpetuating.”

“Right, but it was still protected despite that abuse.  Now, you’re saying that a congressman is doing this just because a trial didn’t go the way he wanted?  This is fucked up.”

“Matt Gaetz called to get Schiff’s phone record and have him and Hunter Biden testify”

“Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

“Killing someone is wrong but if someone is trying to kill you, then it’s fine.”

“Right, what’s okay for him should be okay for anyone else in congress.  God, it’s frightening I’m even considering this.”

                “Schiff should be in jail.”

“If there is any justice in America, then yes I agree.  You know what; I want to see his phone records.  If Solomon has to reveal his sources then Schiff needs to reveal the whistleblower.  Turnabout is fair play.”

“Bongino new rules.  We need to do to the Democrats what they do to us.”

“Well, I’m part of the ‘they’ but the ones that harm you; yea I guess that’s fair.  Just Schiff though.  I think he’s the only one that crossed the line.”

“I will agree to disagree on that but he is certainly the worst.”

“Fine, we’ll agree he’s the worst.  Anyway, you should stop drinking and save some energy because we have to go.”

                “Where are we going?”

                “Dominican Republic.”

Kera and Fanis were both Americans but London provided slightly more world access than their home New York.  Given that Kera was an international Chinese art dealer, this was important.  She knew she had to calm her cousin down so she declared, “President Trump is in London.”

                “I know”

                “He called out Trudeau too.”

                “The Canadian prime Minister?  Why?”

“Canada is supposed to pay 2% of their GDP to NATO but they don’t.”

“That’s what I like about President Trump.  He pulls no punches.  If you’re ripping off an organization that America is in, he’ll call you out.  No more asking what the US can do for you but what you can do for the US.”

“Well, this would be what Canada can do for NATO.”

“We are the most powerful country in NATO.”

“We are the most powerful country in any group we’re in since we are the most powerful country in the world.” She snapped back and continued, “Trudeau was also caught on a mike talking shit behind Trump’s back.”

“Real brave.  Why don’t these people realize someone is always listening?”

                “Not sure.”

“It’s nice having a Real Politik president for once.  Most previous presidents only cared about how we can help the world.”

“Yea, I know but he’s a little too brash for my taste.  You can put America first without being obnoxious.”

They land in Santiago, Dominican Republic and head to their hotel.  On the way, the cab driver stops and they pick up some Presidente, which is the most popular local beer.  Since the meeting isn’t till the next day, they go to the Monumento, which is the main attraction in Santiago.  Unlike most places, the locals in Santiago are obsessed with their landmarks.  In most countries and cities, since the locals see the landmark every day, it loses its appeal but not in the Dominican Republic.  Everyone asks them if they’ve seen the Monumento so they almost feel like they have to.  It is a very large monument in the heart of the city with a statue of a warrior outside.  Fanis and Kera walk around and then sit on the steps drinking Presidente’s and declining the tour from people.

Someone comes up to them and asks, “Are you Americans?”

                “Yes” Fanis replies

                “I’m Steven.”

“Hey Steven, I’m Fanis.  This is Kera.”

Steven shakes hands with them and utters, “Your actor Mark Ruffalo thinks capitalism is killing you guys.  Is it that bad over there?”

Fanis responds “I don’t know why actors think that the fact they pretend to be something they’re not qualifies them as being the intellectual authority on all issues.”

“Yea, they sound pretty stupid to me too.”

“I mean, in the history of human kind, you have death, disease, petulance, lower life spans, destruction, plunder then Capitalism came into play and it diminished severely.”

                “Well, technology is better.”

                “But why is technology better?”

“Oh, yea, I see your point.  Capitalism created the technology.  Things weren’t advancing very fast before the industrial revolution.”

“When Adam Smith’s Wealth of Nations and capitalism was born.”

“I see what you’re saying but there’s no telling what would have happened if it didn’t”

“Not being able to prove a counter factual is the only argument that the liberals have.”

“English is my second language. You’re going to have to stop using things like ‘counter-factual.”

“Sorry, arguing what things would have been like if something didn’t happen.  It’s counter or against the fact that it happened.  You can’t prove it because the fact is the fact, you can’t undo it.”

                “Gottcha.  Thank you”

“Poor people live longer and have more access to food and entertainment than the richest people 200 years ago before capitalism.”

Kera interrupted, “What is ‘capitalism’ anyway?”

Fanis replied, “It’s a series of freedoms and liberty.  It’s not even an ‘ism’ because it’s not a belief system.  It’s distributing resources based on price or what people are willing to pay for it not what someone wants to sell.  It’s the idea that you earn a wage to do what you want with your money rather than serve a monarch.  It also established private property where you own the land you live on so the government can’t come upon it whenever they feel like and decide to confiscate things because they want to.”

“Those are things people normally take for granted.”

“Exactly why retards like Ruffalo can say that shit.”

Kera and Fanis grab some dinner and go back to their hotel.  The next day, Fanis and Kera head to Kera’s meeting where she engages in the capitalistic endeavor of trying to get someone to pay top dollar for a Chinese artifact.   Fanis is standing in the back of the room with other bodyguards.  A bodyguard introduces himself as Julio and Fanis returns the handshake.  “Do you follow politics?”

“I do.”

“What’s going on with this pedophile?”

“He worked on the Mueller probe.  His name is George Nadar”

“The Mueller probe was a while ago, why is it coming out now?”

“I’m guessing Nadar can no longer help the Democrats so they aren’t protecting him anymore.  You have to understand that the Mueller probe only occurred to cover up that Obama and the Democrats illegally spied on President Trump.”

                “What do you mean?”

“Look at who Weissman and Mueller went after.   They went after people that they tried to set up and had been attacking.  First was Mike Flynn, who criticized Obama’s Iran deal and was the security advisor when it went on so he knows all about it.  Then you have George Papadopoulos who they sent two people; Joseph Mifsud and Alexander Downer to try to get him to say that Trump had dirt on Hillary but he didn’t.  Then they tried to set him up by giving him 10,000 dollars cash hoping he’d bring it on the airplane since it’s the exact amount you have to declare when travelling only he didn’t have it.  Next, you had Viktor Pinchuk who was a business rival of big Democrat donor George Soros in Ukraine.  Paul Manafort also opposed the Democrats in Ukraine and Adam Stone who has secrets too.  They all needed to be shut up so they indicted them for things that had nothing to do with President Trump or Russian collusion.”

“That’s a lot of information.  Who’s the child fucker?”

“George Nadar.  He was just indicted for funneling millions of illegal contributions to Hillary Clinton.”

“How did Nadar have to do with Mueller?”

“He was his informant.  He had links to Hillary Clinton but he set up a meeting with Erik Prince in the Seychelles.  Erik Prince owns an investment firm called ‘Blackrock. The guy he was meeting was a Russian named Kirill Dmitriev.  They did this because Prince’s sister is in President Trump’s cabinet so they thought they could link her brother to the Russians thus making Trump linked to Russians.”

                “That’s pretty creative.”

“Not really.  Hillary Clinton hired a firm named Fusion GPS through a law firm named Perkins Coie to get dirt on Trump.  They then hired Nellie Ohr whose husband was the fourth highest member in the Department of Justice.  They just wanted to recreate that with President Trump so that if anyone called them out on it, they could call President Trump a hypocrite for that reason.”

                “Who is Kirill Dmitriev?”

“He runs a fund called the Direct Investment Fund that appears all over Hillary Clinton activities.”

                “Like what?”

“Well, there were these things called the ‘Panama Papers’ that revealed two of Clinton’s aides were bundlers in the Russian Direct Investment Fund.  They also were involved in a project Hillary really pushed called ‘Skolkovo’ which pretended to want to set up a Silicon Valley in Russia but instead it was used to steal our technology to give them more high tech missiles.  Even Nadler’s lawyer was Kathryn Rummler who was Obama’s fixer.”

                “What’s a fixer?”

“When someone gets into trouble, they call the fixer to make sure that the public doesn’t know about it.”

“With so many ties to Hillary, you wonder why he would be so willing to help her opponent.”

                “Exactly.”

Kera finishes her deal and Julio and Fanis shake hands and head out.  They stop by the hotel and Kera remarks, “We’re switching hotels.”

                “Okay why?”

“We’re going near a beach called Sousa.  I want to enjoy the beach while we’re here.”

                “Makes sense to me.”

They pack their things and rent a car as it is an hour drive to Sousa from Santiago.  They check into the hotel and drop their stuff off.  It’s night time so they head to a bar to drink.  The bar is outside and is very crowded.  Kera stays close to Fanis as they are walking but realizes that Dominican men love using the crowd as an excuse to grab her butt despite Fanis being right next to her.  She looks around to see if she can find the culprit but they quickly lose themselves in the crowd.  The final straw is when someone runs past and grabs her purse.  Kera was experienced in travelling so knew to tie the purse to her wrist.  The slight pause was enough for Fanis to notice and he grabbed the man and pulled him away.  Fanis drags the guy outside the bar and confronts him.  The guy yells at him in Spanish, “I didn’t do anything.”

Fanis is fluent in Spanish so fires back, “You tried to steal her purse.”

                “But I didn’t”

                “Because she had it tied.”

“You Gringos are so righteous.  Even your Mormon Senator Romney attacked your Republicans for being conspiracy theorists with Ukraine interfering in the election.”

Fanis’ eyes narrowed and his head went back in confusion. He was confused how the conversation turned to this.  He responded, “First of all, even liberal media like Politico had an article in 2017 that Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfires.  It was about how Ukraine tried and failed to help Hillary and were now trying to make up for it.”

                “Well, they were wrong.”

“Even Nellie Ohr, who worked for Fusion GPS, admitted that one of her sources was Serhiy Leschenko who was the prosecutor general that Biden replaced Shokin with.”

                “Luschenko denies that.”

                “That’s true but I don’t believe him.”

“Well, I do.  There’s a famous lawyer Bradley Moss that made fun of another one of your Senators John Kennedy for using news articles to cite Ukraine involvement in the election because he has access to secret information.”

“That’s stupid considering even the FBI relies on media sources to spy on Trump too.  Why didn’t he have a problem with that?  That’s why Steele leaked to the media; to back up the information they were hearing from Steele himself.  Everyone in government uses media sources.  That’s just a stupid point.”

“Can we go back inside now?”

“No” Fanis rejoined as he punched the man in the face.

The man didn’t go down but he threw a punch of his own, which Fanis blocked and then backhanded the purse snatcher in the face.  This time the guy dropped to a knee and Fanis punched down at his head knocking him over.  He mounted him and rained punches down on his face repeatedly.  Kera looked around and saw a lot of stray dogs and people scattered about but nobody was paying attention to them.  She reasoned this happened a lot.  Fanis got up and stomped on the thief’s midsection.  After a little bit, Kera walked up to Fanis and hugged him, “That’s enough.  He’s long been unconscious.  You’re just hurting your hand unnecessarily now.”

Fanis pants as his muscles ease the tension caused by his anger.  He nods and they use that as their cue to leave.  They head back to the hotel and go to the ice machine and put ice in a cloth to wrap around Fanis’ hand.  They go to sleep and the next day they don bathing suits and head to the beach.  They buy fresh fish from fisherman walking the beach with their catch.  The Caribbean sun is hot so they get an umbrella as they eat their food.  Kera poses, “I’m guessing that anger yesterday was about Schiff still but now that you got it out of your system, what do you think we’d find in his phone calls?”

“Well, on July 26, a member of the National Security Council named Sean Miskall leaves the NSC.  Sean was a colleague of the Whistleblower Eric Ciaramella.”

“Circumstantial but it’s weird you know the date.”

“I know the date because the date is important.  It’s the day before President Trump’s phone call with Ukrainian President Zelensky. “

“Oh.  That’s still a coincidence but it’s getting a little suspicious I admit.  Again, if he’s going to be looking at congressman’s phone calls for no reason than we should see his as well.”

“Right”

They enjoy the beach and alternate between going into the water and relaxing either in the sun or under the umbrella.  Kera makes sure she’s always with Fanis so that nobody bothers her.  She realized last night that womanizers were very bold in the Dominican.  When the sun starts setting, they grab dinner and go back to the hotel.  The next day, they drive back to Santiago and return the car before flying back to London.  On the plane, Kera articulates, “Looks like Trump is fighting back against your former employer.”

In college, Fanis worked for the Bloomberg campaign when he was mayor of New York.  Fanis never met him and it was only a summer job that paid $10/hour but it was good for a college student.  His experience actually turned him off of Bloomberg.  He responded, “How is he doing that?”

“Since Bloomberg news claimed they’re not going to cover the Democrats or their boss but still report on Trump, the White House is banning press credentials to all Bloomberg employees until they reverse the policy.”

“Nice!  That’s what I’m talking about!  Give them a taste of their own medicine! That’s what Republicans should do to Schiff too.”

“Does it really affect them though?”

“Yes.  The media is allowed really nice access to the president.  Especially Trump since he’s the most transparent president ever.  There’s a pool press pass that lets them be on Air Force One, then there’s press pen, which is at the airport where they can get close enough for good pictures of the landing and the president will give pressers.  Then there’s a local pass that lets them hang out with the elite pool guys while they’re in their city.  Bloomberg will get none of that.  If they want to get a photo, they won’t be able to get any closer than your average Joe Schmo on the street.  That’s not exactly good for a paper.”

“Yea, that would be a problem”

They arrive back in London and head back to their flat.  Fanis is completely calmed down now and accepts what he sees as the demise of the country he was born and raised in.  Fanis then thinks that people in every generation had similar fears so he hopes he’s exaggerating.  Though, what Schiff did really seems serious.  Although he wants ramifications for everyone, Schiff is now at the top of the list.
