Real Chracters Episode 46, Chinese follow Russian model

                It is 2009 and the United States is worried about a new virus that has been spreading across the world known as the swine flu.  Vice President Joe Biden came out publicly and made statements attacking the countries where it originated from and making highly charged statements about tourists bringing in the disease.  This prompted White House press secretary Robert Gibbs to call a press conference where he apologizes for the Vice President’s insensitive and fear mongering words and assures the group of reporters of what Vice President Biden meant to say.  A skeptical media continues to challenge Gibbs as Jake Tapper speaks above the crowd stating, “With all due respect, what you’re telling us what he meant to say and what he actually said don’t resemble each other.”

                Gibbs responded, “I’m not going to comment on what he said as we don’t condone it.  I’m only here to comment on what he meant to say.”

                This caused a burst of laughter from the reporters present but Gibbs continues with his rehearsed statement.  After the press conference, Gibbs sighs as covering for stupid remarks made by the Vice President was one of the less enjoyable parts of his job.  In 11 years, Joe Biden would respond to a health scare once again but this time Gibbs wouldn’t be there to protect him. 

                As it turned out, in 11 years, Biden would have various media outlets do the job of Gibbs.  As he responded to a new hysterical health scare, the Coronavirus, Asha Rangappa on twitter praised Biden for giving a speech without a teleprompter.  Unbeknownst to Asha, the video she posted had two teleprompters in each corner as Biden was indeed speaking from a teleprompter. 

                After the swine flu scare came and went, President Barack Obama decided that the public didn’t deserve to know if a health crisis had hit American shores.  As he consulted with his advisors to stem the spread of the information without resorting to full communist tactics of incarcerating those who reported on it, they concluded to have the FDA put regulations banning commercial laboratories and universities from administering testing of any diseases.  This way, the CDC was the only organization responsible for disease testing and thus controlled all the information.

                The calendar has turned to 2020 and the Democrats are gearing up for a brutal and unscrupulous battle to make sure that President Trump does not get reelected in November.  Right before the New Year, they voted to impeach President Trump but Nancy Pelosi is refusing to hand over the articles to the Senate where she knows they have little to no chance of removing him from office.  Meanwhile, in Wuhan China, on January 11, Chinese state media reports the first known death from an illness originating from the market.  Four days later, Congress is briefed on the threat but Pelosi instructs congress to vote to send articles of impeachment to the Senate.  She deems it important to have commemorative pens made and a signing ceremony for the occasion as far left Democrat congresswomen are dancing and singing in the halls while calling it a ‘solemn’ occasion. 

                On January 21, six days after the Democrat party in the Capitol Building, a person infected with what will be known as ‘coronavirus’, ‘covid19’ and ‘Wuhan Virus” arrives in the United States from China.  He had been visiting ground zero of the outbreak in Wuhan. In response to this, two days after his arrival of the highly infectious disease, the house impeachment managers, Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler make their opening arguments for removing President Trump from office.  As they are giving these opening statements, China closes off the city of Wuhan completely to try to stop the spread of the virus to the rest of China.

                Despite China’s best efforts, word of the virus had spread and on January 30, a week after opening statements, the World Health Organization (WHO) declares a global emergency as Covid19 continues to spread.  Simultaneously, Senators begin asking two days of questions of both sides in the impeachment trial.  On the following day, the Senate holds a vote on whether to allow further witnesses and documents in the impeachment trial.  While this is going on, President Trump has been paying attention to the news from China and the WHO and declares a national health emergency and imposes a travel ban on travel to and from China.  Joe Biden, seemingly the only Senator paying attention to this crisis, calls President Trump’s decision hysterical and xenophobic and accuses him of the label he was given 11 years ago; fear mongering.

                As January came to a close, people were holding out hope that the fatalities had been localized in China.  While Americans were awaiting what the famous groundhog in Pennsylvania was going to say about how much longer winter would last, these hopes were shattered as someone dies from Covid19 in the Philippines marking the first death outside of China.  The next day, the legislative branch’s response to this was to begin closing arguments calling President Trump a threat to national security while, ironically, doing nothing about the real threat to American’s peace of mind.

                After closing arguments, President Trump delivers his State of the Union address where he warns Americans about Covid19 and Pelosi is so enraged that she tears up the speech.  On the following day, February 5, the Senate votes to acquit President Trump on both articles of impeachment.  Only now does congress decide to take up Covid19 in the House of Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia since their mission to remove Trump from office failed as predicted by every rational person in the nation. 

                While congress was too busy with impeachment to be paying attention to them, President Xi in China was being told about the problem in the Wuhan markets of a highly infectious disease.  He first heard about this in December and had urged the media, which he owns, to put a blockade on information from getting out of China.  Within a month, Xi realizes that it’s getting harder and harder to contain the information as he has incarcerated eight doctors for discussing it in a private chat group on social media.  He allows his press secretary to release a statement about the virus but also assure the world that the threat is under control and there is no threat of its spread. 

                Despite China’s best efforts, word does spread and the WHO declares an emergency.  President Xi is enraged by this smear on the Chinese people so he orders a press release to let everyone know that this disease cannot spread from human to human as it was contained in a vial and spread.  One of the oligarchs with power in China questions Xi “Do you think the WHO will believe this lie?”

                “Yes, they will believe what we tell them.”

                “It just seems similar to what the Russians did with Chernobyl in the 1980s”

                “We are much smarter than the Russians.  I will never allow that to happen.  Communism must prevail and the state is the most important thing.  We have an overpopulation problem so death and destruction is merely a step to the ultimate plan”

                It doesn’t take long for the old adage about totalitarianism being completely inept at running anything correctly as all their policies inevitably lead to death and destruction.  Rather than gloat on predicting this, the oligarchs in China are meeting and all eyes are on their Supreme Leader Xi.  Xi tells his Minister of Foreign Affairs that the new message is to tell people that the virus didn’t originate in Wuhan but was brought there from somewhere else.  He stresses to make sure to accentuate that we are doing everything in our power to find out who the real culprits are.”

                “Yes Sir.”

                Xi looks at the oligarch that questioned him not too long ago comparing the Wuhan Virus to Chernobyl.  Rather than be happy, the oligarch is worried that he’s going to be reprimanded because he was right and XI was wrong.  Instead, Xi states, “You gave me a good idea and I thank you.”

                “What’s that sir?”

                “We should be like the Russians.  The Americans are weak because their congress is trying to remove President Trump from office.  Just as how the Russians manipulated the Democrats to claim that President Trump colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election, we can get the Democrats to promote our disinformation campaign.”

                “After all the money we have given Hunter Biden, it would only be fair.”

                “Do not mention that yet.  That will be a last resort.  In America, the media is controlled by the Democrats.  We will get the Democrats to tell the media our message and they will broadcast it all over and soon nobody will be able to link this virus to us.”

                “Forgive me, but that may be wishful thinking.”

                “Well, maybe not know in their hearts, but they will be banned from saying it.  If we can force the liberals in America to ban people from calling it a Chinese virus, then overtime the association will be diminished.”

                “That is a great idea sir.”

                “Thank you.  Put out ads in America and on their social media that calling it the ‘Wuhan Virus’ or even ‘foreign virus’ is hateful.”

                “I believe the term they use is ‘Xenophobic.’”

                “Let someone else translate.”

                “I’ll get to it right away.”

                “Thank you comrade.”

                The Chinese disinformation campaign works like a charm as Democrat politicians, liberals and leftists all over social media viciously accost anyone that uses the term ‘foreign virus’ or ‘Wuhan Virus’ as a racist and a xenophobic.  The disinformation campaign worked so well that even on Fox, which is not completely a propaganda arm of the Democrat Party, Geraldo Rivera attacks President Trump for issuing a travel ban on Europe with the exception of Britain.   Rivera references Stephen Miller and the travel ban to curb the spread of terrorism that Rivera believes to be a Muslim ban despite only targeting eight percent of the world Muslims and leaving out the most populated Muslim country; Saudi Arabia.  Fellow guest, Dan Bongino fires back at Geraldo for spreading Russian propaganda, which enrages Geraldo so much that he tells Bongino that he’s lucky he’s not in front of him. 

                Bongino, a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, who is a trained boxer and regularly practices Brazilian Ju Jitzu among other Mixed Martial Arts chuckles and advises him to rethink that. 

                Lost through all the yelling back and forth and talking over each other, is the simple fact that it’s odd to call a ban on Europe racist and xenophobic.  It begs the question ‘towards whom?’ Most of Europe is White so how could it be Anti-China or Anti-Muslim?  Viewers are left baffled how anyone can see this as anything but what it is; a disease prevention strategy. 

                Seemingly still angry from the tiff with Bongino, Geraldo tweets out that Biden had a better handle on the crisis than President Trump.  Those who are informed and listened to Joe Biden’s press conference not only question Joe Biden’s mental state, as they have been concerned about that for quite some time now, but now Rivera is getting the same concerns. 

                What Geraldo and, it appears, Biden didn’t realize is something that President Xi is very familiar with as he watched Joe Biden’s press conference.  As Biden lays out his plan, he claims, “We need to have labs and universities working to get the tests.”

                A perplexed Xi declares aloud, “Trump did that weeks ago.”

                Biden continues, “Small businesses need help to deal with this.”

                Again, there’s a confused look on Xi’s face as he asks his advisors, “Didn’t Trump ask for 50 Billion dollars for this yesterday?”

                “Yes Sir he did.”

                Biden continues to embarrass himself by outlining a third feature of his plan that Co-pays should be vetoed and insurance companies should extend coverage to Covid19 testing.  President Xi’s eyes dart back and forth and he glances at his staffer.  The staffer gives a wry smile and nods, “Yes, Mr. President, Trump already did that too.”

 

                As Biden plagiarizes President Trump’s plan that he’s been executing for months, President Trump calls the CDC and asks, “How are we on the roll out of the testing?”

                “We have corrected the mistake and now accurate testing has been rolled out.”

                “Excellent, keep me posted on any new developments.”

                “Will do Mr. President and again we apologize for the error.  It was really hard to move with the FDA regulations.”

                “It’s already done.  I’ve spent my entire presidency trying to find all the ways President Obama hurt our country.  I wish I had realized his policy to outlaw labs and universities to work on disease testing and administer them to the public.  He was about controlling information from getting out but I have faith in the American people.  They’re beautiful people.  That’s why I’m the most transparent president of all time because I have nothing to hide.  That’s why it didn’t even occur to me because I just don’t think like that.  Anyway, I cut the red tape so everyone is free to act now and it’s all hands on deck.”

                “Yes Mr. President and again, I congratulate you on the speed you cleared up those regulations.”

                “Honestly, I wish I had done it quicker but that’s okay we must move forward.”

                After the phone call, President Trump turns on the TV and watches Biden give his speech.  Biden then says something that causes President Xi to cheer and President Trump to shake his head and wonder aloud, “This is what he’s concerned about?”

                What the two presidents were referring to was Biden castigating President Trump for calling it a ‘foreign virus’ as that is racist and xenophobic.  President Xi and his oligarch shake hands as their disinformation campaign had reached the presumptive Democrat nominee for President of the United States.  President Xi sits back and declares, “Now, we are off the hook.  With the help of the American left and Democrats, nobody is going to think this is problem with communism or China.”

                Just as quickly as Joe Biden said it, President Trump had ignored it.  He switches the channel and sees a picture of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who have both contracted the virus.  One of his staffers utters, “Another celebrity thinking that just because they do movies, they’re an authority on everything.”

                “I actually commend Tom Hanks for what he’s doing and being transparent about his fight against the disease.”

                “Why sir?”

                “Besides the fact I practice transparency every day, I think the American people need a face to this disease.  He does look drained in the picture, but he doesn’t look near death.  If people watch a man in his 60s get the virus and recover, maybe it will assuage their panic a little bit and the markets can start going up again.”

                “That’s a lot of pressure to put on a movie star.”

                “I don’t know if he realizes it yet or not.  I’m sure he doesn’t want to be the face of the virus but it just fell in his lap and he is taking the responsibility by not shielding himself from the public eye.  Like it or not, the fate of our country may lie in the health of Tom Hanks.”

                “Then I will be praying for a speedy recovery.”

                “As will I.”           

                The Covid19 hysteria has permeated all aspects of government and lay person alike.  The FCC commissioner, Brandan Carr is no exception.  As he reads up on the disease, he is outraged that all this had been going on while congress did nothing to act.  Instead, they impeached President Trump on an issue they knew was false.  He stews in his office and comes up with an idea.  He gets on his computer and he drafts a memo calling out Congressman Adam Schiff for issuing a subpoena for the phone records of his political rival Devin Nunes, Rudy Giuliani, reporter John Solomon and anyone else that dared challenge him as he lied consistently to the American people without a judicial review.   In his scathing letter, he informs Schiff that congress is not exempt from following procedure and allowing his targets due process as required by law.  Carr chastises Schiff for not informing his targets of his wire taps, which is also required by law. 

                As he drafts the letter, Carr decides that it isn’t enough.  He drafts another letter to the phone carriers that allowed Schiff to do this threatening to fine them 200 Million dollars for not protecting their customers’ phone records.  A FCC advisor asks Carr, “Don’t you think you may want to tone down the language of these letters?”

                “No, I do not.  Congress does not get a pass for these back door secret investigations and surveillance states.    Schiff broke the law when he didn’t notify his targets and tried to turn America into a police state.  It’s not even that it was incompetence because even after he already sent for Giuliani’s phone records, he threatened Giuliani with two weeks to respond to his request.  He already sent the subpoena to the phone company so he literally didn’t give Giuliani a chance to reply.  This can’t happen in this country.  This belongs in a Russian spy movie where he would be the villain.’     

                Since Carr is mad at the Democrats but wants to keep informed, he turns on Fox News and is surprised to see Alexandria Cortez (AOC) on Brett Bier’s show.  Bier asks her how she can claim that her socialist revolution can be taking place when the revolutionaries haven’t been coming out to vote.  AOC responds that Michigan is suppressing voters and making them wait in line to vote so that’s why they’re not voting.”

                Bier repeats her claim hoping she realizes what she just said and decides to amend the response.  Bier inflects his voice at the end to indicate it’s a question and AOC confidently cries out, “Absolutely.”          

                Carr is baffled and wonders if he heard it correctly.  He looks over at his staffer who gives him a blank stare as he seems just as astonished as Carr.  Carr asks him, “Does she realize that Michigan has a Democrat governor?”

                “I think she’s on the band wagon that the Democrats are sabotaging Bernie Sanders.”

                “Yes, but when you put out the message that Democrats are suppressing voters, it helps Republicans.”

                “I’m pretty sure she didn’t think that far ahead.”

                “As far as you know, is there any evidence of suppression?”

                “Not that I’ve heard of but I don’t think it’s hard to look up.”

                “Do me a favor and check on that because now I’m curious.”

                After clicking some buttons on his phone, the staffer nods, “No, 1.5 Million Democrats voted in the Michigan primary.  In 2016, it was only 1.1 Million.  I guess this is good news for Biden because twice that many voted in the general in 2016, so that spike may put Biden over Trump as Trump won Michigan in 2016.”

                “That was the biggest upset of the election”

                “Yes it was.”

                “So, how was there voter suppression if more people voted this time?”

                “You have to ask AOC that.  I got nothing.”

                “And, if college kids don’t want to wait in line, why don’t they just send in an absentee ballot.”

                “They generally aren’t too big a fan of snail mail.”

                “This is the future of our country.”

                “Our only hope is that people tend to get older and wiser.  I’m a lot smarter now than I was when I was 23.”

                “Let’s pray that’s true for the next generation too.”

                At the end of the segment, Cortez leaves the studio and immediately an aid calls her.  She answers the phone and the aid knows better than to set the congresswoman off by telling her how she came across.  Undoubtedly, she’ll get enough comments on twitter to notify her of it.  The aid, instead, asks, “Do you want to make a statement about the Coronavirus?”

                “Yes, I want to attack Trump for slashing the CDC budget.  If he hadn’t done that, we would have had a vaccine by now.”

                “Ms. Cortez, the CDC budget is larger now than it was under President Obama. Trump didn’t slash funding; he increased it by seven percent.”

                “Seven percent is nothing.”

                “7.2 Billion to 7.7 Billion.  500 Million dollars isn’t nothing.”

                “I distinctly remember voting on a bill that Trump sent to us.”

                “He proposed cuts but Congress stopped it and the final deal that passed saw the increase in funding.”

                “So he didn’t increase the funding; we did.”

                “Yes, but if you tell people that we would have found a vaccine if he didn’t slash it, it would be a lie.  Just because you talk about something, doesn’t mean it happened.  Everyone is going to know to go by what actually happened not what was proposed to have happen.  Do you understand?”

                Alexandra looked confused but she nodded that she understood. 

 

                Meanwhile back on Capitol Hill, Nancy Pelosi is trying to use the Coronavirus bill to put in riders that she hopes the Republicans and President Trump don’t realize is in there.  In this rush to get the virus under control, they may not realize the other stuff she hid deep in the bill.  After all, the Democrat mantra is to never let a crisis go to waste.  As President Trump just recently stopped federal funding of Planned Parenthood, Pelosi inserts the Hyde Amendment, which will divert tax payer money to fund abortions.  Unfortunately for her, the Republicans noticed and asked her what abortion has to do with the Coronavirus.  Now that she’s caught, she agrees to take it out and delays the bill more.  As negotiations about the bill go back and forth, Pelosi is determined not to let President Trump get anything that he wants.  That is why she removes a payroll tax because she would rather the American people get no financial relief from the market collapse than to give President Trump a victory.  She calls the New York Times and urges them to attack Donald Trump about his handling of the virus in order to sign a bill that is riddled with riders of leftists proposals that would never win support standing alone. 

                The New York Times, being the lap dogs that they are for the Democrats, prints exactly what Pelosi wants.  They then go on to twitter and publicly exclaim that they don’t understand why Trump supporters distrust the media.  By tweeting it out, it stops them from doing real journalism and going out into the world and asking people.  There are a lot of comments about Russian Collusion, Ukraine hoax, Charlottesberg lies, Trump Jr. Hoax Impeachment and lying about Trump calling Coronavirs a hoax.  The most damning tweet, however, came from a handle simply called ‘Dave’ where he lists the following claims that were lies by the New York Times and other mainstream media outlets.  He asks the New York Times if they remember them claiming; repealing net neutrality was going to destroy the open internet, moving the embassy to Jerusalem was going to start mass riots across the Middle East, Trump was going to start a nuclear war with North Korea, Dow Jones crash to 18,000 after the election would never recover, pulling troops out of Syria was going to lead to genocide of the Kurds, Adam Schiff had concrete evidence that President Trump colluded with Russia, they had evidence Brett Kavanaugh was a gang rapist and that the Covington Catholic High School kids were White Supremacists, Trump’s tax cut was only going to benefit the rich, Trump’s presidency was going to be brought down by Michael Cohen, Omarosa, John Kelly, Michael Wolff, Jim Mattis and John Bolton and killing Soleimani was going to lead to World War III.  With a list that impressive, the fact that the Mexican billionaire owned New York Times could be so out of touch to not see it really destroys any shred of credibility they had left.

                As the media panics over a pandemic that only seems to kill people with pre-existing conditions and those over 70, it is unclear when things will go back to normal in the United States and sports are played again and people can gather in large groups.  While the flu has still killed about 1000 times more people than the Coronavirus, people still believe that this is Armageddon as the media hysteria is at an all time high and there is a nationwide panic for disease that proves more and more not to be that lethal or even that contagious.  The whole nation looks to Tom Hanks to see how he fares with the disease.  If a test comes back negative indicating that Tom Hanks has kicked the virus, there may be peace in America again.  In the meantime, President Xi and the Chinese oligarchs continue to use useful idiots, also known as Democrats, to promote their disinformation and propaganda campaign to ban any insinuation that the Wuhan Virus originated in China.
